The reference materials listed were used to create the exam and are needed to prepare for the exam. However, only the Uniform Mechanical Code is allowed into the exam. Applicants should be familiar with the content from all reference materials

Pre Approval is required to sit for the exam. Applicants must submit an application to the licensing board to gain approval.
Business Management Survey exam is required.
A surety Bond is required. The minimum bond amount is $1000 and the maximum is $500,000.
Applicants must have at least 4 years experience within the last 10 years in the designation applying for.
The license belongs to the business, not the qualifying party
This license allows the fabrication and installation of systems for the heating, evaporative cooling and circulation of air, excluding cooling systems that require refrigeration as an integral part of the system

The fee to apply is $300. If your license is approved the license fee is $600 for a 2-year license.
A license is issued for 2-years and must be renewed biennially.
Contractors engaged in any type of residential work must participate in the Residential Recovery Fund. The fee is based on the monetary limit placed on the license.
Important Contacts
The state of Nevada has a reciprocity agreement with California, Arizona, and Utah. There is no reciprocity for the plumbing and electrical trades. Applicants must have at least 7 years of experience and meet all licensing requirements.
Nevada currently does not require Continuing Education for this license.
PSI administers the exam. It is a semi open-book, timed test with 30 questions and a 1-hour time limit. A score of at least 70% (21 correct) is required to pass the exam.
The exam fee is $95 for a single exam and $140 for one trade exam plus the Contractor Management Survey Exam.
If the test is failed three times the applicant must begin the application process over and reapply directly to the Nevada State Contractors’ Board.

American Contractors currently does not offer a seminar for the Nevada Heating, Coolin and Circulating Air Contractor (C-1F) license, however we do carry all the necessary study and required reference materials.
