Oklahoma Residential Electrical Journeyman
This license allows work in the installation, repair and alteration of electrical conductors, fixtures, appliances, apparatus, raceways, conduit and related equipment and fixtures that use electrical energy for light, heat, power, data and communications as it applies to one-, two-, or three-family residences in a supervised environment. A Journeyman must be employed by a licensed electrical contractor.

Additional Services
A Journeyman is not required to take the Electrical Business and Law Exam.
A completed application must be submitted to the state licensing board to obtain approval to test.
Applicants must have at least 4,000 hours of experience as an electrical apprentice; however, 2,000 hours of the requirement may be satisfied by formal electrical related education.
There are no state mandated minimum financial requirements for this license.

The Board may enter into a reciprocity agreement with another State if the requirements for licensure in the other State are deemed by the Board to be substantially the same or equivalent to the requirements for obtaining an original license by examination in this state
Oklahoma requires that 6 hours of approved CE must be completed every 36 months (3 years). A licensee is exempt from these requirements for 3 years from the date he or she initially passes the current licensing exam. As of July 1, 2014, no contractor or journeyman license shall be renewed unless 6 hours of Continuing Education, within the last 36 months (3 years), have been completed. Thereafter, 6 hours of CE must be completed every 3 years (36 months).
The exam is given by PSI. It is an open-book, timed test with 80 questions and a 3.5-hour time limit. As of 11/1/2024 a score of at least 70% is required to pass the test. The exam fee is $92.00 per exam
