The South Carolina Commercial Business and Law exam as well as the trade exams is required to be passed to obtain your contractors license.
The first step in the licensing process is to pass the exams.
Applicants will then submit an application to the state licensing board with documentation of experience, financial information and passing test scores.
All Commercial and Mechanical Contractors except Fire Alarm and Burglar Alarm Contractors are required by the state to pass this exam in addition to their trade exam in order to obtain a license.

The South Carolina Commercial Business Law license cannot stand-alone; it must be combined with a commercial contractor's license of some type.

The South Carolina Commercial Business and Law exam preparation seminar is a 2.5 hr seminar held the first part of the first day of the South Carolina Commercial Builder seminar.
