If Reciprocal check off from which state and be sure to include a certified letter from reciprocating state (New Hampshire or Maine ONLY), Photocopy of license is NOT acceptable form of proof.
If applying after holding a Vermont Electrical Journeyman license for 2 years, submit completed application with a copy of your qualifying Vermont Electrical Journeyman
If neither of the above applies you must show proof of 16,000hrs of experience through signed affidavits from your previous employers.
$150.00 for 3 year license fee.
Master licensees should be aware that they are responsible for periodically inspecting the work of the journeyman licensees under their direction and performing a final inspection of the journeyman's completed installation.
(1) have been licensed as, and working as, a journeyman electrician under
this chapter for at least two years; or
(2) have had comparable experience and training, within or without this state,
acceptable to the board; and
(3) pass an examination to the satisfaction of the board.

The exam is 105 questions, Multiple-Choice and 5 hours to complete in.
The exam fee is $65 for Paper & Pencil, and $100 for Computer based.
You must wait 10 days before retaking a failed exam. You may retest up to three (3) times before you are required to reapply with the State of Vermont.
Your eligibility for testing with Vermont is valid for a period of three (3) years. If you have not passed the test within three years, you will be required to make another application with the State
